About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Participate in all aspects of logistics planning functions which cross the internal and external organization lines of Maintenance, Supply, and Transportation.
Provide logistics analysis and planning input to the Logistics Readiness Center, operational elements, and Installation Center and Garrison staff elements.
Assist in soliciting, developing, analyzing, and forming input and design to plans, operations, and other logistics products.
Provide input to the development and execution of mobility and contingency plans.
Analyze mission objectives to determine the kind and extent of support required, coordinating with functional specialists to assure adequate provision of manpower, supplies, equipment, and services.
Monitor unclassified and classified networks for taskings, operation orders/fragmentary orders, and briefings materiel.
Prepare and present detailed briefings, information papers, decision papers, fact sheets, and other official correspondences in support of special plans and projects.
Requirements

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Current Civilian Employees of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood Logistics Readiness Center, within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Department of Army Civilian employees with competitive status.
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning, coordinating, and/or evaluating logistical actions; 2) Assisting with the development of emergency, mobility, and/or contingency plans; and 3) Preparing and/or presenting reports or briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or another related field.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
