About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center at Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

This position serves as the Logistics Readiness Center Director, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Directs all maintenance, supply, ammunition, food service, laundry, and transportation. This position may include directing air and rail, as well as the installation?s power projection platform, property accountability, clothing, deployment, redeployment, and other related logistical activities. Set policy for organizations managed. Manage, supervise, and coordinate all logistical activities for a complex installation. Interpret objectives and guidance received from Army Sustainment Command headquarters and Army Field Support Brigade relating to logistical operations. Place emphasis on implementing and administering regulations governing the safeguarding of classified information. Direct the fiscal management of organizational logistics operations. Direct the formulation and management of the directorate operating budget based upon knowledge of operating programs, programmed expenditures, operating costs, etc.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Position is designated non-critical sensitive.
  • May travel approximately 20% of the time. Travel may include site visits to stateside and overseas locations.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE 450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon entering the position and annually.
  • This position is designated as a key position. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization to function effectively.
  • This position is designated as Mission Essential.
  • The position is needed to ensure facility operations in support of Continuity of Operations Programs (COOP) and/or performance of duties and completion of tasks that are mission essential functions of the organization.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
