You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Lifting and Handling Department at PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will conduct quality audits, surveillances and studies and present program results and analysis to management. You will research, determine and interpret audit and surveillance requirements in support of lifting and handling operations. You will perform oversight of assigned critical functions of the department to assess the quality performance of processes. You will coordinate audit and surveillance training and provide guidance to personnel conducting or assisting with quality on and off station audits and surveillances. You will conduct all actions associated with chairing critiques, including preparing internal and external reports. You will review Quality Assurance audit and surveillance programs, instructions, methods, and techniques for adequacy, with emphasis being placed on compliance with higher level requirements with recommendations for improvement. You will provide audit team members with guidance on audit techniques, review and preparation of findings, and editing audit findings prepared by team members to ensure they are valid, concise, technically, and administratively correct. You will provide management with advice and guidance when dealing with the quality assurance aspects involving crane engineering, inspection, test, maintenance overhaul, and repair processes.

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience conducting quality assurance audits and surveillances; analyzing findings to identify operational or procedural deficiencies; and recommending corrective action to ensure procedures meet quality and certification requirements that support lifting and handling operations.
