You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Engineering and Analysis Division of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will conduct audits, surveillances, and assessments to evaluate work performed on systems, equipment, materials, or processes.
You will analyze failure or rejection rates for work products to determine the effectiveness of quality control methods or standards using the Quality Performance System (QPS) and other evaluation tools.
You will advise management on Quality Assurance (QA) aspects involving engineering, inspection, testing, maintenance, overhaul, and repair processes for ships and submarines.
You will provide ideas, methodology, principles and practices involving investigations for Quality Assurance and surveillances program.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting quality assurance audits, evaluations, or surveillances of ships or submarines programs or processes to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective action. Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas.
FOR GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing, or coordinating the quality assurance audits, evaluations, or surveillances of ships or submarines programs or processes to ensure compliance with the quality management system. Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
For GS-11 Only:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
OR
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree;
OR
An LL.M. degree in a field directly related to the position being filled;
