You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the OFFICE OF SECURITY PROGRAMS of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
Duties
You will process Industrial Security requests including foreign ownership, control, or influence, classification and clearance levels required for contract performance; National Interest Determinations and reviewing statements of work.
You will ensure security classifications guides identified on Contract Security Classification Specification (DD Form 254) for classified contracts are disseminated to Prime contractors, and will review and sign DD Form 254.
You will meet the qualifications for appointment as a Contracting Official for Security Administration.
You will initiate requests for Facility Security Clearances (FCL) and furnish justifications for interim FCLs.
You will ensure compliance when access to classified information is provided to cleared contractors in connection with a classified contract.
You will review the nature of classified contracts to identify the level and kind of secure work to be performed and the kind and extent of security protection required for the programs.
You will ensure access to classified information is limited to appropriately cleared personnel with a need-to-know.
You will assist to authorize the retention or transfer of accountability of classified information held by contractors upon completion of active classified contracts.
You will assist and investigate security violations or possible compromise of classified information by DoD activities and contractors, assessing the damage against National Security, taking remedial action as required and report accordingly.
You will ensure personnel in the command who perform security duties are kept abreast of changes in policies and procedure and provide assistance in problem solving.
You will assist in developing, maintaining, and coordinating all Security Education and Training Awareness requirements for command personnel and DoD contractors to ensure knowledge of mandatory security requirements.
You will assist with the development of policy directives and guides and monitors compliance.
Requirements

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) under the SPeD certification program within six months of assignment.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (or GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, performing Industrial Security functions to ensure compliance with security policies or procedures for the protection of information or assets from unauthorized disclosure, access, misuse, or loss.
