About the Position: This position is located on Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Duties
Administers the Army Emergency Relief Program which provides financial assistance to members of the military, both active and retired, and dependents.
Establishes procedures for personnel with AER loans who are being reassigned, retired, or separated from the Army, to clear with the AER office.
Responsible for maintenance of the AER account in accordance with established Army and Headquarter AER regulations, policies, guidelines, and instructions.
Responsible for statistical reports, accountability forms and check write-offs of un-collectible loans, and receipt and disbursement and accounts for AER fund. Safeguards funds, checks and accountability forms.
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of AER financial records and reports.
Conducts interviews to determine if aid should cease, continue, increase or decrease and submits recommendations to HQ AER.
Ensures that interview(s) of Army widows/orphans applying for financial aid are conducted.
Performs limited budget counseling of individuals in an attempt to help prevent future financial difficulties.
Serves as the Army Emergency Relief (AER) Specialist for the installation.
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of AER financial records and reports.
Responsible for the organization, publicity, training, contribution processing, overall accountability, periodic updates as well as an after-action report for the annual AER Campaign.

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing financial assistance to Soldiers and family members; maintaining financial records; preparing a budget and identifying financial needs for clients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
