About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Chemical School, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is an hour's drive West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Serves as senior technical advisor and lead project officer for the Army Chief of Chemical and Commandant, United States Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear School (USACBRNS).
Plans and develops CBRN capability development solutions across the doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership, personnel, facilities, and policy (DOTMLPF-P) spectrum to maintain readiness and modernize the force.
Leads a diverse team of capability developers to realize solutions across planning, programming, budget, and execution (PPBE) in the development of the Program Objective Memorandum (POM).
Works with Army, Joint, Sister Service, and DoD organizations to coordinate and synchronize science and technology initiatives.
Researches and development, experimentation and testing, materiel development and acquisition, organizational structure, warfighting concepts, and doctrine.
Serves as advisor and consultant for CBRN operations and counter weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) to all Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE).
Organizations on matters concerning Army and Joint CBRN capability development, operations, and training.
Provides supervisory control and direction for the USACBRNS DOTMLPF-P Integration Division in support of the Chief of Chemical for all Army and Joint CBRN programs relating to CBRN capability development.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing guidance and expertise in the development of CBRN solutions across DOTMLPF-P; 2) coordinating and synchronizing the development of CBRN priorities for the Chief of Chemical to inform resourcing solutions to man, train, and equip the force; AND 3) identifying training needs of employees, providing both technical and administrative matters.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13 or above).
