About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to plan and present communicative skills instruction for the U.S. MEDCoE Captains Career Course (MCCC), Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC), International Officer Program, (IOP), and staff and faculty of the Health Readiness Center of Excellence (HRCoE).
Duties
Thorough knowledge of the Army writing style, fundamentals of communication (i.e., listening, speaking, and writing), and general English linguistics.
Basic knowledge of theories, principles and techniques of adult education.
Responsible for courses covering advanced technical systems and subject-matters.
Serve as subject matter expert and advisor on communicative skills subjects for staff and faculty of Health Readiness Center of Excellence to include installation and tenant activities.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
OR
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrating a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: applying principles and techniques of education to help students acquire communication and writing skills; maintaining distributed learning courses and determines the need for and initiate changes/updates in course content; developing training materials to meet program objectives; and evaluating student progress and providing feedback of training results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
Supervising or administering a training program.
Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
