This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Information Systems Division (TC), Business Program Management Section, Procurement Management Unit.
This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Program Management Unit providing analysis and assessment of division-wide initiatives, projects, or programs with strategic, enterprise, or tactical impacts relative to the agency strategy.
Duties
As a Program Analyst, your typical work assignments may include:
Providing detailed analyses and financial interpretation in the defense of or preparation of financial program documentation.
Preparing requests for proposals, establishing and administering contractual arrangements.
Maintaining and applying contract documentation, monitors change orders and modifications.
Operating office automation equipment to access, research, and transmit various automated processing systems.
Making policy and planning decisions based on the interpretation of contract provisions.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Employment is subject to the successful completion of a background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Applicants applying for the GS-12 must meet one of the following requirements:
A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Assisting in technical analysis, review, and recommendations related to development and execution of project management plans; 2) Assisting in preparing requests for proposals, establishing and administering contractual arrangements and procurement proposals; and, 3) Conducting reviews of acquisition planning documents, contracts and purchase actions within predetermined categories based on dollar value, method of acquisition, and other factors.

A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring contractor's technical performance is in accordance with the requirements of the contract and brings any significant deficiencies to the attention of the Contracting Officer; 2) Assisting in preparing requests for proposals for contractual arrangements and procurement proposals; 3) Maintaining the maintenance of property accountability systems for all assigned supplies and organic equipment; and, 4) Conducting reviews of acquisition planning documents, contracts and purchase actions within predetermined categories based the method of acquisition.
