Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Office of Environmental Programs. This position is for one vacancy and will be located in one of the following locations: Sterling, Virginia; Anchorage, Alaska; Camarillo, California; or Jefferson, Louisiana. At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Advises BOEM senior leaders on environmental protection, assessment, review, and research with an emphasis on environmental justice responsibilities and partnerships. 2. Develops and maintains partnerships with other Federal agencies, communities, Tribes, and public and private organizations with interests in environmental justice impacts and mitigation. 3. Ensures that issues are adequately identified and described when Bureau policy decisions may impact communities with environmental justice concerns, including Tribal Nations, Native Hawaiian, and other indigenous communities. 4. Advises on partnerships and provides support in developing and implementing partnership agreements, such as Memoranda of Understanding or Agreement and Cooperative and Inter-agency Agreements. 5. Advises on the development and implementation of BOEM's environmental justice strategy and action plan. 6. Plans, develops, and employs appropriate procedures for conducting environmental justice analyses and outreach, using policy expertise to conduct analyses, evaluate environmental issues, and recommend effective solutions. 7. Identifies and assesses relevant data and information concerning energy, mineral, and carbon sequestration activities on the Outer Continental Shelf as they relate to environmental justice impacts, including scientific understanding or policy implications. 8. Facilitates the recommendation and oversight of studies essential for effectively addressing environmental justice concerns at the programmatic level, including the identification of data gaps and enhancement of models. Salary Range Information: Sterling, Virginia:$139,395.00 to $181,216.00 Jefferson, Louisiana: $122,198.00 to $158.860.00 Camarillo, California: $142,094.00 to $184,725.00 Anchorage, Alaska: $138,035.00 to $179,448.00 The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and you may be allowed to telework a certain number of days per pay period subject to supervisory approval. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available. Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the specialized experience for the series to which you are applying. Specialized Experience To qualify for the GS-14, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1. Experience in navigating and engaging with processes related to environmental protection. 2. Experience in building and maintaining coalitions and networks specifically related to environmental protection or environmental justice. 3. Experience in fostering and maintaining collaboration to advance environmental protection goals. Must meet all.
