You will serve as an Intelligence Specialist at the GG-13 grade level within Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA), Intelligence Directorate (S2) in either the Middle East and Africa Regional Branch or the Asia Pacific Regional Branch. Personnel will perform intelligence analysis and production tasks relative to the political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, technical, or military issues in specific foreign countries. These positions are located at Quantico, VA.

Duties

You will research, collate, analyze, interpret, evaluate, and integrate complex data from multiple sources and intelligence databases to produce original all-source intelligence assessments. You will compose written assessments, prepare and present briefings, and provide expertise to tactical, operational, and strategic level Marine Corps customers in compliance with Intelligence Community standards. You will liaise with other intelligence agencies and collaborate on projects with regional and technical specialists within the Intelligence Community as required to conduct advanced analysis and produce co-authored assessments. You will evaluate intelligence reporting, identify intelligence gaps, formulate collection requirements, and work with collection managers to develop collection plans. You will serve as the USMC/MCIA representative at designated interagency and community meetings, conferences, and forums.

Requirements

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • This position requires periodic polygraph examinations.
  • This position is subject to shift work.
  • Travel required for contingency/exercise support, briefings, conferences and training.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as: 1) Composing written intelligence assessments and preparing and presenting briefings in accordance with Intelligence Community Directive 203; 2) Researching, analyzing, interpreting, evaluating, and integrating complex data from multiple sources to assess the relevance and significance of events; 3) Using Structured Analytic Techniques, Analytic Design, and/or other IC analytic methods and frameworks for conducting all-source analysis; and, 4) Participating in collaborative projects with regional and technical specialists.
