About the Position: This is a permanent Supply Technician located at Fort Drum, New York.
Student loan repayment incentive may be authorized.
Salary negotiation is available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Duties
Generate financial reports for logistical reconciliation.
Analyze material requirements for special programs.
Provide technical assistance in the reconciliation of financial problems pertaining to logistical actions.
Review issue transactions to ensure that other demand data is realistic.
Participate in the investigation and/or resolution of inventory discrepancies.
Enter purchase orders and/or contract data into an automated supply system.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires the employee to occasionally travel (in the most expedient manner) away from the normal duty station -- 5%.
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
- This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining medical property accounts; researching medical supply orders; providing customer assistance; conducting inventory database searches for medical supplies; and/or organizational inventory requisitions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as supply chain management, or logistics. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
