About the Position: This is a Supply Technician position located within USA MEDDAC Fort Drum, New York, DIR OF DENTAL CLINICAL DENTISTRY B.

Duties

Perform a variety of supply duties relating to the requisition, receipt, storage, issue, replenishment, inventory, and control of supplies standard medical and non-medical (stocked and non-stocked) items. Forecast and maintains stock levels and supply flow according to usage rates, delivery time, current demand, items on hand, and cost based on quantities ordered. Prepare requisitions and supporting documents. Reviews material for correctness and possible substitution. Maintain registers of requested items. Ensures item disposition is documented. Maintains a technical reference library. Maintains a current list of all standard and nonstandard supply items. Coordinate the issue and turn-in of hand receipt and non-hand receipt equipment. Coordinates with installation maintenance and property management personnel for proper procedures and disposition. Operate office automation equipment and computer terminals to input and retrieve data. Performs miscellaneous typing in conjunction with supply duties. Type statistical, tabular, and narrative material using judgment in setting format and columnar layout. Compose correspondence as necessary to gain or furnish information. Type various documents such as justification for priority order items that include memorandums, letters, forms, and other materials. Typing is usually prepared in final form, with responsibility for correct format, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Incumbent must possess the ability to acquire and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingForecasting and Demand PlanningInventory ManagementSupply Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
