About the Position:About the Position: Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York, a historically unique and geographically beautiful area, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, the Adirondack Mountains to the east, and the St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.
Duties
Utilize a Logistics Information System (LIS) to research repair parts, manage bench and shop stocks, conduct inventories, issue and track supply transactions.
Serve as a Purchasing Agent utilizing the Government Credit Card (GPC), General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and contracting systems to purchase commercial shop supplies and equipment repair parts for a variety of equipment commodities.
Maintain files, customer account data, regulations and records to reflect current status of equipment, i.e. awaiting inspection, awaiting parts, shop space, and under repair.
Produce various reports generated by the management information system including periodic reports reflecting production data and status of materials and equipment.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires one year probationary period.
- May be required to work Army Power Projection Platform (AP3) Operations utilizing a skill that is Classified no higher than the current grade. Work may involve shift work, weekends, or holidays.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the Federal service, which includes: 1) Utilizing supply regulations, policies and/or procedures to for the procurement/storage and retrieval of various parts and supplies; 2) Conducting physical inventories to identify and correct discrepancies; 3) Utilizing office automation software/equipment to create, edit, store/save, and/or retrieve a variety of standardized documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
