About the Position: Serves as Deputy Operations Officer and Security Manager for the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU). Provides support in the planning, coordinating, and synchronization of the use of facilities, equipment, and manpower in support of the SRU.
This is a term position and an obligated position.
Duties
Coordinates with Medical Treatment Facilities, Regional Health Commands, U.S. Army Medical Command, Army Recovery Care Program, U.S. Army Installation Management Command, and Office of the Surgeon General for the preparation and execution of taskers.
Independently initiates time-sensitive staff work, based upon written orders, verbal orders, established policies, and procedures for the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU).
Provides support in the planning, coordinating, and synchronization of the use of facilities, equipment, and manpower in support of the SRU.
Serves as the SRU Security Manager with the responsibility for the management and implementation of personnel, information, automation security programs for the SRU.
Prepares and presents written and verbal information and decision briefings (i.e., decision briefs, info briefs) for the Command leadership in accordance with Army doctrine and policies, based upon research and analysis of operational issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 5% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- A candidate tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) utilizing automated systems to identify training, (2) assisting in researching policies and regulations to be implemented, (3) preparing operations orders for special functions, ceremonies, training events, and/or community relations, AND (4) reviewing policy guidance for recommended changes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Management or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
