About the Position: Serves as Director of the Mission Training Complex which consists of five major areas of support: Collective Training, Individual Army Mission Command Training, Small Unit Training, Leader Training and Development, Technical Support and Operations.

Duties

Responsible for supervision and management of a work force comprised of approximately 108 military, civilian, and contractor personnel. Develop policies, plans, and procedures for evaluating management and maintenance costs. Study training demands for the digitized force, reviews upgrades and modifications of equipment and facilities, and formulates changes to policy. Supervise the development and execution of the organization's budget Routinely brief, coordinate and interface with IMCOM, USATRADOC Commands, Corps and Division, and other Army Commands and Units utilizing the Mission Training Complex. Recommend purchase and operation of simulation-related computer equipment and environmentally-controlled facilities This position is the Primary Hand Receipt Holder for all classifications of property accountabilities. Manage and execute 100% of Non-CIV Pay Funding and must submit future FY budget requirements to IMCOM G3/5/7 Annually. Execute personnel management actions through hiring actions and recommends adjustments for the TDA/Manpower Models.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • TDY travel is occasionally required.
  • Incumbent will often be required work on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Current Civilian Employees of the Organization In order to qualify, you must meet the education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) managing training programs focusing on program accomplishment and coordination with organizations; 2) compiling, initiating, and directing courses of action to resolve high level program challenges; 3) drafting and briefing after action reports assessing program timeliness, efficiency, and effectiveness; and 4) strategic planning future operations for training demands. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
