You will serve as an Administrative Specialist in the SIOP Department at Norfolk Naval Shipyard of PMO 555.

Duties

You will analyze administrative requirements against available resources to optimize administrative resource pool utilization and staffing. You will formulate strategy for execution of civilian personnel programs including monetary and non-monetary performance and incentive awards, training, security clearances, and position management for respective SIOP FO. You will submit Position Descriptions (PD) to HRO for classification. You will develop and implement consistent methodology for maintenance of central office supplies. You will track all organizational change requests as well as contractor requests through the Position Management Board (PMB). You will identify, analyze, and make recommendations to resolve conventional problems and situations related to the programs administered.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing administrative information management responsibilities to include internal and external content, technical guidance, and support; 2) Providing administrative management support and oversight related to human resources requirements (e.g. awards, staffing, billet validation, position descriptions, etc.); 3) Assisting with updating and tracking project execution, spreadsheet data management, and application of business process and requirements. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
