Duties

You will review production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements. You will review written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans. You will analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system. You will verify by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance. You will identify inadequacies and request corrective action. You will compute data, summarize results, and prepare reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods. You will investigate customer complaints and deficiency reports and provide identification of causes to appropriate authorities. You will read, interpret, and apply technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals. You will review and evaluate supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrateone year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting analysis of quality control measures, processes, methods, or requirements to identify quality trends or conditions in the manufacturing of materials or products for projects or construction. To qualify for the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrateone year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with the analysis of quality control measures, processes, methods, or requirements to identify quality trends or conditions in the manufacturing of materials or products for projects or construction. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

To qualify for the GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
or
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

To qualify for the GS-09:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
or
