About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a General Supply Specialist for the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Army Field Support Battalion at Fort Liberty, NC. This position will be filled as a Term appointment Not-to-Exceed (NTE) 13 months.

Duties

Work directly with current automated supply systems to support customer requisitions, turn-ins, and other supply transactions. Utilize Global Combat Service Support-Army (GCSS-Army) to account for and manage property assets. Assist the Property Book Officer (PBO) with researching supply problems and issues at the Modernization Displacement Repair Site (MDRS). Recommend procedures and methods for improving or correcting supply situations. Receive and provide guidance in interpretation of regulations, policies and directives.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) analyzing property and supply problems, issues or situations relative to property management and accountability; (2) participating in a comprehensive supply program including areas such property accountability, inventory management, catalog management, equipment management, financial management, and/or disposal management; and (3) utilizing supply automated systems such as Global Combat Service Support-Army (GCSS-A) and/or Lead Materiel Integrator (LMI) Decision Support Tool (DST) to account for and manage property assets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as: quality assurance, supply management, production management, industrial management, business administration, logistics, or other fields related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Contracting/ProcurementInventory ManagementSupply PlanningTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
