About the Position: Serves as a General Supply Specialist for the Joint Special Operations Command at Fort Liberty, NC.

Duties

Serve as Hand Receipt Holder for the Division, responsible for the accountability and management of Automated Information Systems (AIS) supplies, supply maintenance and Excess Equipment Program. Manage the Automated Information Systems (AIS) supply and excess equipment program. Manages the supply policy program and functions as the technical authority for subordinate commands.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • This is a drug testing designated position and requires the incumbent to complete a drug test examination prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This position is subject to perform temporary duty up to 10%.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year trial period unless previously completed.
  • The incumbent may be required to work uncommon tours of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • The incumbent may be subjected to short notice recall.
  • Position may be subject to one year probationary period unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Applying knowledge of supply operations sufficient to synchronize supply and logistics activities for equipment systems, components, materials and supplies; managing an automated supply system; Receiving and issuing equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Inventory ManagementSupply PlanningTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????09).
