You will serve as a SECURITY OFFICER for COMMANDER - NAVAL INSTALLATIONS.

Duties

You will develop and maintain a Continuous Evaluation Program to verify personnel maintain their eligibility for a security clearance to access classified information or for their assignment to a sensitive position. You will author written policies and procedures to resolve security issues and problems.. You will ensure command training is conducted and current. You will provide briefs to top-level officials on security matters.

• Travel to attend meetings and conferences and conduct inspections at various locations throughout the world may be required on occasion.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilize expert knowledge of Navy security programs, regulations, policies and operating instructions in order to assist in complex decision-making and policy formulation. 2) Interpreting security policy requirements, concepts and principles to solve complex issues and develop issues. 3) Planning, organizing, and directing a major security program. 4) Provide training and briefing top-level officials on security matters.
