About the Position: Serves as the principal Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) advisor to Installation and Mission managers, analyzing and resolving of high-risk hazards, including explosives, radiation, chemical and related hazardous materials.

Duties

Consults with other Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) experts, including industrial hygienists, physicians, environmental and fire protection engineers to resolve complex environmental SOH hazards or to develop SOH guidance and procedures. Serves as the principal Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) advisor to Installation and Mission managers, analyzing and resolving of high-risk hazards, including explosives, radiation, chemical and related hazardous materials. Performs analysis of IMCOM Directorate wide accidents and adverse trends and develops or recommends countermeasures. Establishes, interprets, implements, maintains plans, policies, and procedures for conducting SOH activities at all levels of command. Provides technical leadership and guidance to garrison SOH professionals, collateral duty and SOH points of contact involved in a wide variety of safety and occupational health operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
