Serves as an Administrative Assistant at a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) HQ facility. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Administrative Assistant responsible for performing the full range of procedural and administrative work including planning, managing, directing, coordinating, and executing a broad range of administrative programs and procedures to facilitate accomplishment of directorate operations.
Duties
Performs administrative support and personal assistance to the Director.
Coordinates involvement and direction in social, ceremonial, awards, retirements, and other special events/activities for the Director.
Responsible for dignitary visits, developing proposed itineraries, instructions, guides, materials and pertinent correspondence.
Manages calendars utilizing own initiative, schedules or reschedules mutually convenient times for appointments based upon personal knowledge of the Director's activities, commitments, and current issues of importance.
Arranges for conferences and meetings, including such matters as location, dates, attendance list, invitations, room reservations, and notifies attendees of agenda.

Requirements

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0303 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Experience: One(1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-06 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience:
Utilize automated system within the organization to input data, trace errors, and perform corrective actions.
Analyze data, determine trends, solve routine problems, and recommend courses of action or solutions to meet management needs.
Books travel arrangements, submits travel vouchers, and coordinates all travel related administrative requirements.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date:
Physical requirements: (The work is mostly sedentary. No special physical demands are required. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.
Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. For GS-7: You must have 52 weeks of Federal service at or equivalent to GS-6.
Time after competitive appointment. Current federal civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since being selected for a non temporary appointment from a competitive examination register of eligibles (an announcement opened to the public) or under a direct hire authority.
