You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL) in the Utilities Electrical Product Line of the Metro Production Office of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will perform troubleshooting of complex crane electrical issues and advises leadership in the development of solutions and alternate courses of action. You will conduct significant crane electrical inspections. You will assists the crane engineer in performing work required for crane modernization and crane engineering design reviews for new construction. You will perform technical electrical engineering services in support of crane repairs, overhauls and modernizations.

  • The incumbent must be obtained, maintain and use a government travel card.
  • Occasional travel away from normal duty station is required; frequent travel away from the normal duty station is required
  • Must be able to successfully complete the following training course within prescribed timeframe: FY mandatory and IPD required training to be complete.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing and evaluating the work of government and contract engineers and technicians regarding installation, operation, and maintenance of protection and control systems; 2) Preparing technical drawings for modifications of protection and control to existing utilities distribution systems; 3) Utilizing engineering theories and new developments to employ long range/term planning for repairing/upgrading utilities systems and utilities electrical protection; and 4) Utilizing test equipment and instrumentation to enable field analysis of utilities systems problems and evaluation of corrected actions taken.
