You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will serve as manager with full management, technical, and administrative responsibility for assigned ships maintenance and repair. You will establish goals and objectives, develop plans for goal accomplishment, and measure progress toward goals. You will coordinate division efforts, promoting teamwork and resolving disputes promptly. You will determine resource needs, allocate personnel resources between the divisions according to workload and technical demands, and account for their effective use. You will delegate authority to subordinate supervisors and hold them responsible for the performance of their organizational units. You will determine the need for and develop plans for organizational changes which have major impacts such as those involving departmental structure, operating costs, and key positions. You will plan and manage current and future departmental budget in support of the overall command and total fleet repair budget.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position required work onboard ships.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing leadership and management of engineering technical services to support process improvement and intermediate level ship maintenance and repair.
