Duties
The NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) is looking for multiple Administrative Office Assistants to provide administrative support as a member of the NCNR Center Office team. Duties will include:
Provide prominent administrative tasks for the Division Chief, Deputy Division Chief and other NCNR management.
Assist with the planning and implementation of program events and special projects.
Provide administrative and clerical support for division staff; develops and implements division-wide administrative policies and procedures to be used by subordinate staff.
Conduct training of new support staff; interacts with high level officials internal and external to NIST and at national and international levels
Coordinate and plan work and resolve inquiries.
Process travel authorizations and vouchers; assist in the on-boarding of new employees which includes arranging for office space.
Manage time and attendance; prepare procurement orders; serve as a bankcard holder to purchase equipment, supplies, and services.
Prepare training requests; schedule meetings; register visitors; manage files, serve as an office contact for phone calls and visitors.
Manage calendars; prepare, review, and edit documents, reports, and correspondence and skill using a variety of office automation software, such as spreadsheet and word processing software.

Qualifications
To Qualify, applicants must possess one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-8 (ZS-IV at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as: experience performing a wide range of expert administrative support functions including serving as a timekeeper, preparing and managing travel requests, completing procurement and bankcard processing, maintaining property database and developing office procedures.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
