Duties
The candidate selected will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant for the ITL Chief of Staff as well as the Information Technology Lab office supporting, Travel, NAIS process, scheduling meetings, bankcard purchases, and other administrative activities. Performs a full range of administrative support functions and responsibilities including preparing and processing all travel and NAIS actions, serving as a bankcard holder and timekeeper, and managing files. Prepares documents, reports, and correspondence requiring typing 40 WPM and skill using a variety of office automation software, such as spreadsheet and word processing software. Trains administrative staff on various administrative subjects. Works independently and as part of a team to lead, develop and implement ways to improve workflow and services provided. Supports current policies/processes and drafts new administrative policies/processes to enhance unit needs. Applies knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to complete tasks and resolve administrative problems to ensure the effective operation of the Information Technology Laboratory Office and be proficient in office automation tools, such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint. Performs duties independently.

Qualifications
All applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of the specialized experience at the GS-8 level (ZS-IV at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience as an office support assistance to an organizational unit (OU) or division to include preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings, human resources management, travel management, property and/or space management, purchasing supplies & equipment, time and attendance, generating reports, and consolidating data.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
