Duties
As a Title 10 Faculty Member (Supervisory), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Performs duties as a Faculty Member, teaching team supervisor for a CGSOC teaching team of approximately 12 members consisting of military historians, tacticians, joint operations specialists, logisticians and leadership developers.
Integrates the efforts of the team into coherent leader development of four CGSOC staff groups of approximately 18 students each at CGSC resident CGSOC course and or at Distance Education sites around CONUS.
Lead, coach and mentor the team and its individual members in dynamic problem solving, course of action development and general problem remediation in the classroom and within the context of team operations.
Instructional duties consist of development, revision, evaluation, and presentation of subjects in at least one of the following areas, Tactics, Joint-Multinational Operations, Military History, Leadership or Logistics and Force Management.
Ensure that individual members of the team have received appropriate CGSC and Department specific faculty development training and that the team as a whole is trained to standard for the delivery of CGSOC curriculum.
Presents graduate-level lectures, seminars, and other instruction to CGSC resident and extended campus course students on CGSOC common core and Advanced Operations and Warfighting Course (AOWC) curriculum courses.
Advise students and assess student classroom performance. Provides exceptional professional expertise in one or more fields related to the range of subjects taught in the CGSC curriculum.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. The incumbent of this position must qualify for and maintain a secret security clearance.
- The work involves physical effort typical of teaching positions, with substantial platform instruction.

MASTER'S REQUIREMENT: Applicants MUST possess a Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major course of study that is directly related to the position. (Note: You must submit a copy of your official transcripts.)

MILITARY EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: This position requires the incumbent be an Intermediate Level Education (ILE) graduate and achieved Military Education Level 4; Joint Professional Military Education 1 (Command and General Staff Officer's Course or another sister service Intermediate level education course).

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing advice on leadership, leader development, oversees the curriculum and/or course design process, and providing policy guidance to all aspect of a departments activities.
DOCTORATE LEVEL EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: This two year Title 10 position requires the incumbent to possess or earn a Ph.D., or equivalent professional doctorate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a field appropriate to the position within the first six (6) years from entry on duty (EOD). Faculty hires that commit to completing a terminal degree will be assessed every two years and may be reappointed for consecutive two-year terms, based upon evidence of satisfactory progress toward completion in six years. Failure to obtain a Ph.D., within the required six (6) year timeframe will be cause for your removal from the position. Tested experience specific to the teaching position may be used in lieu of a Ph.D./terminal degree with the approval of the Deputy Commandant. Tested experience for this position varies by department and tested experience as documented in the applicants resume will be assessed for all departments. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Knowledge of military leader development policy and programs
Experience as a leader of large complex organizations
Knowledge and experience in curriculum development.
Teaching experience at the graduate level.
Recognized expertise and publication in a discipline related to leadership.
Oral and written communication skills.

Academic rank and salary will be determined based on the selectee's education and experience.
