About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W6EC01 US ARMY ACQUISITION SUPPORT CENTER.
Duties
Serves as the Senior Strategic Intelligence Staff Officer, Intelligence Branch, Operations and Technology Division, HQDA, G-3/5/7, Pentagon, and the senior intelligence analyst and risk manager for strategic plans and policy development.
Oversees intelligence analysts and evaluates/edits all-source intelligence products produced by subordinates.
Applies expertise with a wide variety of intelligence resources and methods as well as platforms used in intelligence collection.
Responsible for researching and developing risk assessments, courses of action, and strategic plans throughout the Intelligence Community and Interagency.
Defines critical intelligence issues and trends globally, especially in Asia, Middle East/Africa and/or Europe.
Formulates positions on critical issues and projects evolved from the Army staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence staff, and other DoD and non-DoD agencies.
Regularly represents the Army on Intelligence Community working groups and committees, presenting significant analytical issues, developing an Army intelligence position for presentation to decision makers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel will be required 35% or less of the time.
- All TSMO staff members may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
- Stress is inherent in the nature of work: The many short-suspense actions and pressures of time from nearly all contacts contribute to heightened demands.
- Under crisis operations, may be subject to short notice expanded hours and possible recall situations and irregular work hours, including weekends and holidays. Overtime/shift work may be required.

AND Experience analyzing emerging global security trends to identify potential threats. AND Experience developing methods and techniques to resolve intelligence mission problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13).
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
