About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army, G-2 Foreign Intel Dir Analysis Division located a the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.

Duties

Shapes requirements into tasks for Army Intelligence organizations; assesses adequacy and accuracy of material provided and manages competing resource requirements. Assignments evolve from broadly stated questions originating from national, DOD, DA and ODSINT intelligence requirements and objectives. Requires high level of expertise on broad sociopolitical, economic, and cultural trends, and expert knowledge of global military and security issues, and a comprehensive knowledge of the Army position on global defense security issues and goals. Serves as primary ODCSINT expert concerning Army responses to Joint and National level consideration of global security and emerging threat issues.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • May require consent to take a counterintelligence scope polygraph examination, if access to a special access program is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Must sign a statement attesting to the understanding of CIPMS provisions as indicated in AR 690-

Specialized experience is defined as experience Specialized experience is defined as experience representing an organization in intelligence/national security forums. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-14). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
