As a supervisor in the The Office of Research Facilities (ORF), Division of Technical Resources (DTR), you will manage the field engineering, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control devices for utility generation systems that support the programs and operations of the NIH. Duties

Oversee the instrumentation and calibration programs within the Central Utility Plant (CUP) Coordinate across organizational lines to determine requirements and demands, coordinate work activities, and resolve problems and concerns about industrial instrumentation and automation control devices and auxiliary equipment Maintain accurate records and inventories of instrumentation and control devices or spare parts Coordinate and plan emergency maintenance, preventative maintenance, and calibration activities on all instrumentation and control devices within the CUP Oversee the development and modification of project scopes and design specifications for calibration of the instrumentation and control systems within the Central Utility Plant

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Supervisory Engineering Technician GS-0802-13 position you must demonstrate in your resume at least 1 year of specialized experience at or at least equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: examining preliminary and final design features of utility systems and configurations prepared by engineers to ensure workability; providing technical assistance on the maintenance, calibration, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial instrumentation equipment; drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs) pertaining to the maintenance and calibration of instrumentation within an industrial facility; and writing and reviewing utility contract documents such as scopes of work or cost estimates.
