About the Position: The incumbent performs a variety of recurring and ad hoc assignments in such areas as business management, financial management, research and analysis, acquisition oversight and review, process improvement initiatives, and customer service enhancement. Prepares complex reports containing clearly defined findings and recommends practical methods of improvement.

Duties

Serve as an advisor to the Chief of the Command Acquisition Support Office, and other management personnel, on the full range of acquisition and business management processes. Provide technical advisory support to source selection teams and other business process improvement teams. Assist in the development of solicitation packages and conduct a review of contract specifications and contract changes. Develop new techniques by which operational elements may increase productivity. Lead a teams and develop methods with organizational representatives on subjects of management improvement which in many cases can be controversial or critical with respect to existing operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The position is Non-Critical Sensitive (2) requiring a Secret security clearance or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • This position requires submission of a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
  • The employee must meet the DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the Contracting and the Contracting Professional Career Level Certification within 36 months of appointment.
  • This certification must be obtained within 24 months of appointment. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes providing guidance on acquisition and business policies, processes and procedures; and perform research, analysis, process improvement, and strategy execution that offer efficiency to the acquisition and business management process.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-2/GS-11 or above.
