About the Position: Serves as Chief of the Acquisition Management Branch in a Program Management Division of a Project Management organization responsible for planning and developing the acquisition strategy for major weapon system(s).

Duties

Establishes guidelines for subordinates based on higher echelon guidance, program requirements, and relationship with other organizations and programs. Furnishes technical and administrative advice and assistance to resolve problems and assure continuity of efforts. Identifies operating problems, develops solutions and monitor implementation of changes. Provides expert consultant services for procurement laws and regulations, acquisition strategy, production capabilities, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) actions, and contract administration. Assists employees in preparing career plan, develop, or participate in the development of work performance standards.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Contracting certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
  • This position requires submission of Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
