About the Position: This position is located at the Space and Missile Defense Technical Center (SMDTC), US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. USASMDC conducts space and missile defense operations and provides planning, integration, control and coordination of Army forces and capabilities.
This is a Demonstration Project Position.
Duties
Evaluate and interpret regulations, policies and procedures to determine applicability and efficiency of business processes and impact to the organization.
Advise program officials of acquisition objectives and in the preparation of contractual documents.
Develop, present, and advise management and senior leaders of acquisition and business related processes.
Lead or participate on ad-hoc teams with organizational representatives on acquisition issues.
Prepare various acquisition related reports for data analysis.
Review and manage data relative to contract actions being executed.
Requirements
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Contracting certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).

Specialized Experience:
To qualify for this position, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (DE-03 or GS-13) or equivalent pay band in the Federal service which includes 1) Analyze acquisition requirements to identify issues in need of solutions, process improvements or planning; 2) Provide acquisition/contracting guidance to management or technical personnel; AND 3) Analyze financial or contractual data supporting an acquisition program.

Additional Information:
- This position is covered under an alternative personnel system known as the Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory Management Demonstration Project. The Demonstration replaces GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The salary range of the position being filled will not be decreased with the change to pay bands. This position, DE-04, incorporates GS-14 step 1 through GS-15 step 10 grade and salary levels.
