This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This Logistics Management Specialist position is assigned to Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier, Project Manager Soldier Survivability, Product Manager Air Warrior, located at Huntsville, AL.
Duties
Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist concerned with directing, developing, and performing logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating the execution of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).
Responsible for cradle to grave intensive logistics management to support complex, major weapon systems from concept through field deployment.
Perform the full range of planning, liaison, contract monitoring, equipment and organizational interface, control of other government elements supporting the effort and logistics phases of field exercises and tests.
Support includes the management and interface with logistics element managers, contract support services, training facilities, Integrated Logistics Support Management organizations.
Establishes or ensures the establishment of ILS requirements of acquisition documents and contracts. Monitors the status and quality of ILS development services and products.
Requirements

- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for Advanced certification in the Acquisition Career Field Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- Business travel required up to 25% of the time.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is defined as: 1) Develop product support strategies and packages for materiel acquisition programs; 2) Manage logistics products/documents including the lifecycle sustainment plan that documents the sustainment strategy for materiel acquisition programs; and 3) Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of a comprehensive logistics program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11).
