Duties
At the GS-09 you will perform developmental duties as assigned. At the Full Performance Level (GS-11), you will perform the following:
You will be responsible for the administration, updating, review, analysis, and maintenance for a server/client database.
You will prepare and maintain database user accounts.
You will provide operational support for the customized proprietary database specifically designed for Museum collections.
You will be responsible for application troubleshooting.
You will install and configure client software on workstations.
You will respond to requests for guidance or assistance regarding implementation or interpretation of program requirements.
You will identify potential or existing program or administrative problems and discrepancies.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.

Qualifications
GS-09:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating a competent level of IT knowledge and database management. Examples of Specialized Experience may include the following: 1) Operating database software for museum collections; 2) Administering, updating, reviewing, analyzing and maintaining server/client database; 3) Assist in the maintenance of user accounts and database metrics for reporting requirements; 4) Manage and troubleshoot software applications to ensure full functionality; 5) Assist in the installation and configuration client of software and maintain database operability.
GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating a substantive level of IT knowledge and database management. Examples of Specialized Experience may include the following: 1) Identifying problems within museum data base and recommend solutions to management; 2) Analyzing proposed, revised, or new regulations affecting the database program and supporting infrastructure; 3) Training staff on the user interface and managing user accounts and security configurations; 4) Maintaining the necessary network connectivity for staff; 5) Installing and configuring client software on workstations and maintain database operability.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:
GS-09:
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
