You will serve as a DEPUTY SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in the Safety Department of STRATEGIC WEAPONS FACILITY PACIFIC.
Duties
You will direct all Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC) safety, health, environmental, explosive safety, nuclear safety, radiation safety, and emergency response functions.
You will establishes policy and oversees the management of the SWFPAC Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) programs.
You will provide direction and oversees the Nuclear Safety Officer in the management of SWFPAC Nuclear Safety Program, Personal Reliability Program, Nuclear Weapons Radiological Controls Program and the Nuclear Safety Monitoring Program.
You will function as the Explosive Safety Officer and unique to this position, the incumbent also functions as the Explosive Safety Officer for the Commanding Officer, establishing policy and procedures for each of the all program elements.
You will establish policy, provides direction to and oversees the SWFPAC Emergency Manager in the effective mitigation, response and recovery for a wide variety of emergencies and catastrophes.
You will exercise control and responsibility for the operations and personnel of the Safety Department and plans, direct, establish priority, coordinate, control, and advise on and reviews overall Safety Department activities.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- For the full performance level NH-IV, you must meet all certification and training requirements to be the EXPLOSIVE SAFETY OFFICER for SWFPAC and MCSFBN.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing safety health and occupational health programs (i.g., hazardous material, explosive safety, or radiation safety) to develop safety and occupational health programs, policies and procedures by determining safety requirements, hazards, and resolutions for a safety and occupational program.
