About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, Mission Support Command, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/Investigative Records Repository (IRR).

Duties

Plan, supervise, direct and evaluate work of subordinate Specialists and Assistants assigned to the section. Oversee the management and application of policies and procedures regarding the safeguarding and accountability of national security and personnel security-related information. Provide management support to civilians to include planning, development, and execution of complex programs. Ensure the records management program follows all Army regulations and guidelines and directives. Oversee the daily operations of the accession, storage, safeguard, digitization and disposition of intelligence, counterintelligence (CI), security investigations, and operational files. Use knowledge of Sensitive Compartmented Information security regulations and directives in order to implement security policies, practices and procedures for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a single scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
