About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQDA G-2 MI Support, Stable Shadow Program at Fort Liberty, NC.
Duties
Serves as Counterintelligence (CI) Special Agent responsible for high-level independent planning, missions and functions.
Extensive field experience, practical service, and in-depth knowledge of CI policies, procedures and techniques is required.
Maintains high level contacts and conducts close and continuous liaison with higher and adjacent staff elements associated with deployed joint force counterparts throughout the intelligence community and the Department of Defense.
Takes an active role in and organizational specific working groups, committees, and meetings.
Assists in CI investigations, Commander's inquiries, vulnerability assessments, and threat analysis in support of garrison and deployed activities within the scope of organizational authorities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two-year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Requires extensive temporary duty (TDY) travel 30% of the time, both in the Continental U.S. (CONUS) and outside the Continental U.S.(OCONUS), on very short notice.
- Subject to short notice recall. Must reside within normal commuting distance of Fort Liberty (50 miles).
- This is an Emergency-Essential (E-E) position subject to deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Army Counterintelligence Badge and Credentials. Expert knowledge as a graduate of a certifying CI course, per Department of Defense Directive (DODD), S-5240.02.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience 1) assisting in the development of plans/strategies in support of counterintelligence mission requirements; 2) conducting specialized counterintelligence activities which produce in quantifiable/tangible results; AND 3) disseminating counterintelligence derived data to appropriate regional task forces. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
