You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Special Warfare & Expeditionary Systems Department (JX), Specialized Munitions Division (JXR), Special Purpose Munitions Branch (JXRQ) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14
Duties
You will possess general engineering knowledge to oversee and review technical design and test and evaluation work of the group.
You will oversee and review acquisition activities of the group.
You will possess program management skills to oversee and review numerous branch projects simultaneously.
You will possess knowledge of human resources regulations and processes.
You will demonstrate extensive knowledge of DoD funding and financial regulation.
You will interact with and influence internal and external partners to accomplish the branch mission.
You will be a member of the Specialized Munitions Division management team, effectively working with other team members to affect division, department, and corporate initiatives.
You will possess general knowledge and appreciation of safety requirements related to explosive handling and test, material handling and transportation, machine shop activities, and electronics lab activities.
You will oversee recruiting, development and retention of personnel talent to support mission requirements.
You will manage technical projects left of the acquisition lifecycle from napkin sketch with the end user to fielding and sustainment.
Requirements

- Work generally takes place in an office environment and technical laboratory at various locations on Center and may involve travel outside of NSWC Crane.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 (GS-11/12) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assessing and coordinating acquisition efforts, technical design and the test and evaluation of explosive components to identify and provide guidance to ensure adherence of safety and technical requirements for support of the life-cycle of a warfare project.
