Duties
Responsibilities include reviewing, validating, reconciling, and analysis of financial data as reported in the automated accounting system.
Provide direction, guidance, and corrective actions (verbal and non-verbal) to co-workers, team leaders, managers, and customers as questions arise.
Reviews obligation data and works with DWCF-TSEAS funds managers to ensure accruals are properly recorded; identifies required adjustment transactions and initiates corrective action.
Identifies problems, conducts research, and resolves discrepancies associated with recording the budget, commitments, and expenditures.
Researches and analyzes financial management information in both the accounting and financial management system and any of the feeder systems to prepare ad-hoc reports and/or to answer management questions.
Provides guidance to DFAS supporting activity for unmatched disbursements in the design of new and revised financial management, accounting, and budgeting automated processes.
Requirements

- This is a Level 2 Financial Management certified position.
Qualifications
Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-05 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-04 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
For entry at the GS-07 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
For entry at the GS-09 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-05, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-04 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience at the GS-05 level is defined as experience inputting financial data.
For the GS-07, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-05 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience at the GS-07 level is defined as experience inputting financial data; and experience preparing financial transactions.
For the GS-09, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-07 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience at the GS-09 level is defined as experience inputting financial data; experience preparing financial transactions; and experience with financial reporting, reviewing and analysis.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Education
GS-05 Substitution of Education for Experience: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
GS-07 Substitution of Education for Experience: Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement or 1 academic year of graduate education (or law school, as specified in qualification standards or individual occupational requirements). Superior Academic Achievement: S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
GS-09 Substitution of Education for Experience: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, or Master's or equivalent graduate degree such as LL.B. or J.D., may be substituted to meet the experience requirement.
