About the Position: Food Service Systems Analyst with assigned responsibility for analysis of problems relating to the development improvement and evaluation of DA Food Service Program (with emphasis on equipment), facilities and field feeding at the ACOM, installations, and depot level.
Duties
Provides logistical and analytical data on all installation staff elements as they relate to support of the installation and Army Food Service Program.
Organizes, interprets and coordinates data compiled as a result of Food Management Team visits and technical assistance visits, analyzing existing procedures used in food service operations and determines reasons for shortcomings.
Performs technical assistance, transition, pre-acceptance post completion and field visits to ACOMs, depots and installations worldwide to make studies and evaluations of food service program.
Serves as technical advisor on food service and field feeding equipment. Prepares General Officer information briefings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 45% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: performs Army food service operations, provides assistance identifying problems or issues, and recommendations. Recommends methods to improve overall efficiency of the installation food program and dining facilities. Reviews guidelines, interpret regulatory policies, and procedures and advises on changes to maximize the efficiency and productivity of each facility. Processes and evaluate information procedures and encourage application of standard and policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
