About the Position: This position will serve as the Deputy Director - CDID (SUS) with the Sustainment-CDID, US Army Futures Command located at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA.
This position is covered by a Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project.
This position covered by this vacancy announcement is a part of STRL Demo Pay Band IV Category II (GS 15 equivalent)
Duties
Oversee projects and programs of broad scope and impact and identify and shape the goals of the organizational unit.
Plans work to be accomplished, interprets policy, procedures and established priorities.
Evaluates performance and provides advice, counsel, and guidance to subordinates.
Chairs special study groups to prepare and prioritize positions and otherwise represent Army requirements at high level discussions with DoD.
Perform as a Technical Advisor pertaining to Program Objective Memoranda and Strategic Portfolio Analysis Review.
Determine integration program goals to develop internal policies, directives, plans and procedures for implementation and compliance
Provides technical, administrative, and managerial assistance to senior level officials in fulfilling mission requirements.
Oversee project schedules for staff members to fulfill new project requirements, changes in priorities, or changes in manpower resource.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a three year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A two year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes the following: 1. Determining program goals and developing internal policies, directives, and plans; 2. Performing as a Technical Advisor pertaining to Program Objective Memoranda and Strategic Portfolio Analysis Review; 3. Providing sound analytical advice in matters relating to operational and management issues; AND 4. Supervise and/or lead a team of employees to ensure continuity of assigned work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (DE III/GS-14).
