Duties
As a TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST at the GS-2101-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serve as a Transportation Specialist in the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), Defense Personal Property (DP3) Directorate (TCJ9) as the DP3 Policy Manager.
Develop, plan, and evaluate Defense Personal Property policies/program operations to assess effectiveness and compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
Perform policy development, program management and program administration duties, and develops methods and procedures to improve the delivery of relocation services to DOD customers.
Perform analysis and advises on matters relating to carrier performance and related system operations to write new policy to improve performance.
Develop and present briefings on policies, and procedures to representatives of USTRANSCOM staff components, Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Unified Commands, the Services, and other agencies.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Performing analysis and evaluating effectiveness of Household Goods (HHG), Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) and storage shipments; recommending alternative strategies to improve efficiency of operations.
Researching and analyzing transportation policy, doctrine, public laws, rules and regulatory documents for purposes of developing or recommending new Defense Personal Property (DP3) policy and procedures.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
