Duties
You will serve as IT Specialist (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN) at Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing ELEVEN (CPRW-11), U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
You will be responsible for the overall implementation and operation of an Information Assurance program.
You will provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on IT issues.
You will exercise technical and administrative supervision over personnel in the IT department to include daily operations, message downloading and distribution, job/project assignments, evaluation and overall department management.
You will maintain an accurate inventory and accountability control program of IT assets.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 722, proficiency level INTERMEDIATE the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled.
You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below
1) Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2) Customer Service- Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3) Oral Communication- Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4) Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND
In addition to your experience demonstrating the competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying, advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to accomplish assignments such as: develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services.
Experience utilizing current Information Assurance principles, methods, procedures, and practices, and protecting Information Technology resources in accordance with Federal/DOD/DON guidelines.
Experience applying asset inventory management and tracking methodologies sufficient to minimize inefficient use of IT assets.
Experience applying project management principles, methods, and practices including developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities, and evaluating and reporting on accomplishments.
