You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROJECT ZONE COORDINATOR in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), Production Department (Code 900) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Duties

You will identify developmental and training needs of employees. You will initiate or attend meeting involving work status. You will ensure safe work practices are followed.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience reviewing, approving and directing work operations in the execution of the assigned zone of work, (structural, rigging, electrical, or piping) which is subject to frequently changing work situations. Experience determining total resource requirements and allocation based on schedules and work sequences which often change significantly from year to year. Experience setting and adjusting short ­term priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work. Experience evaluating performance of subordinate supervisors; serving as a reviewing official for performance appraised by subordinate supervisors. Experience applying comprehensive knowledge and experience in project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control, and workflow control techniques. Experience demonstrating knowledge of personnel management and ability to supervise a combined workforce of military/civilian/contractor in the production program. Experience coordinating with inside shops, ship's force and various MARMC departments for scheduling and completion of work and key events, such as systems testing. Experience applying skill in oral and written communication and demonstrating the ability to apply those skills in coordination and problem-solving efforts within the command.
