You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER in the Combat Systems Electrical Division (Code 950), Production Department (Code 900), Norfolk Ship Support Activity (NSSA) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will determine long and short range need for resources.
You will establish basic priorities and work sequences, and maintains balanced workload among subordinates through proper distribution of work and allotment of manpower, equipment and materials and initiates necessary changes in work priorities.
You will evaluate work performance of subordinates; give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
You will identify development and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
You will attend and conduct a variety of meetings or critiques as necessary to review key reports and schedules, assesses the progress of the availability, identifies the problems causing work delays or stoppages and initiates corrective action.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience continuously reviewing cost and progress reports to anticipate and/or initiating corrective action prior to exceeding cost limits or failing to meet production schedules.
Experience practicing the techniques of scientific management (work flow, plant layout, time and engineered work standards, work simplification, safety), product control (requisitioning, storage, delivery, inventory, and material handling), cost control (direct labor, material costs, equipment costs, and Shipyard operations overhead costs) and budget control and personnel management.
Experience planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjust short-term priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work.
Experience developing criteria, instructions, methods, policies, and procedures to obtain effective results, overcome unusual problems, and to facilitate the accomplishment of work.
Experience identifying the problems causing work delays or stoppages and initiating corrective action.
