The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System serves the health care needs of America's Veterans in West Central and Southwestern coastal Florida by providing primary care, specialized care, and related medical and social support sources.

Duties

Major Duties: Performs mechanic and housekeeping maintenance Installing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical wiring and fixtures, controls, and equipment. Locates defective parts/equipment through visual observation or use of test equipment. Performs minor maintenance and repair work for electrical, carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning and mechanical trades. Constructing, altering, maintaining and repairing buildings, structures, partitions, panels, tool cabinets, bookcases, work benches, and other items. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/30/2024. Preferred Experience: Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Frequently works in awkward and cramped positions. Work normally requires extensive standing, walking, kneeling, and bending positions. May lift and move materials up to 40 pounds unassisted. Occasionally lifts or moves heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers.
