About the Position: Serves as a Capability Development Analyst in the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Proponent Office Opposing Forces-Systems (TPO OPFOR-S) performing a variety of capability development and analytical support tasks. Performs capability developer functions for existing and future OPFOR Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) within the Integrated Training Environment (ITE)/Synthetic Training Environment (STE).
Duties
Identify, develop, and integrate Army Combat Identification and OPFOR requirements and capabilities within the Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) simulations.
Conduct training requirements analysis and determination to ensure OPFOR TADSS integrate Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) simulations and simulator tools into live-synthetic battlespaces.
Coordinate OPFOR TADSS integration requirements with the Combat Training Center-Instrumentation System (CTC-IS), Homestation Instrumentation System (HITS), and LVC Integrated Architecture (LVC-IA) capability and materiel developers.
Assist the combat development team in support of OE/OPFOR-related LVC rapid prototyping and components selection for LVC-enabled collective TADSS.
Develop and assesses integration of new modeling and simulation training requirements, capabilities or changes to existing requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% is required.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) conducting training requirements analysis for training aids, devices, simulations and simulator (TADSS) tools; 2) evaluating TADSS training capabilities and requirements throughout the training development process; and 3) evaluating the integration of new modeling training aids, devices, simulations and simulator training requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
