About the Position: This position falls under the Defense Health Agency Atlantic Network at the McDonald Army Health Center, Fort Eustis, VA. Incumbent will provide expertise in support of training operations of the Department of Defense (DoD) Electronic Health Record (EHR) and necessary clinical systems.
Duties
Responsible for all Electronic Health Record (EHR) related training to all assigned personnel at the Medical Treatment Facility as required.
Provide expertise in support of training operations which include inpatient and outpatient clinical information systems.
Plan, execute, and evaluate the training in support of the systems.
Perform implementation and training duties associated with provider, nursing, support staff, and clerical user access, profiles, and patient management.
Identify needed developmental areas and recommend improvements to the current training programs.
Provide basic troubleshooting for Electronic Health Record and Office Automation software issues.
Train users to perform basic Electronic Health Record and Office Automation software activities.
Coordinate with Training Resource Manager and Clinical Workflow Analyst to verify and implement appropriate training needs and delivery to the organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You must undergo a specific initial background checks, investigation and periodic re-verification check of multiple agency records to obtain and maintain a suitable determination to occupy a position having regular contact with children.

- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

- This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes administering an Electronic Health Record system training program in a healthcare environment; troubleshooting basic office automation software; using online training platforms to request participant use, set up for use, register participants, deliver instruction, evaluate participant performance, and certify personnel as trained for Electronic Health Record system access; and aiding personnel remotely and face-to-face on Electronic Health Record systems utilized by a healthcare facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as adult/continuing education/training.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
